Great American Steak & Chicken House, The

This place has the worst customer service and i would not recommed this resturant to anyone. Im from out of town and stopped in for take out. A gentleman took my order after standing there for 5 minutes waiting to be helped. As i was waiting to pay for my meal 4 people asked me if i had been helped...which is a good thing i guess but after another 10 mintues someone brought me a recepit for my order. I paid with cash my sister paid with a card. 5 mintues later the lady who took our money asked if we received our change and card. We said no...she said well let me go find out what happened to your money. She came back and said someone would be bringing us our money and card. 5 more minutes later a different lady brought our money and card. The very nice gentleman who took our order came and told us they were almost done with our food but they had no coleslaw for our 2 piece fish orders. My sister ordered a side of rice and i ordered mac and cheese. So we waited....in between 30 minutes about 5 different people asked if we needed a seat. We replied no we are just waiting on our food. They all made a trip to the kitchen to figure out what happened to our order. Finally someone brings the food...but guess what they only had 1 fish meal. The "General" manager came over and asked what happened . i told her what happen she said she would check on it. She went in the kitchen and never returned. The nice gentleman that took my order came out with my food. I left and returned to my hotel room to eat my food and guess what....only 1 piece of fish in one of our orders. So i called back and the " General" manager answered the phone. So i explained to her that i only received 1 piece of fish in one of my orders. She said to me and i quote " i was in the kitchen and i redid your order myself and i know it was right" and she hung up in my face. So i called back assuming that was a mistake...the same lady answered the phone and i asked her did she mean to hang up in my face...and she hung up again...i called a third time and she never answered the phone again. I paid 17.99 plus tax for a 2 piece and so did my sister. I just wanted my order right and in a timely fashion. The "General" manager was rude and majority of the customer service was horrible. Except for the guy that took my order and if the service wasn't so horrible i would have probably been able to mention his name but i couldnt remember it because i was so upset.

Where do I begin? with the appetizers......we wanted to order the fried pickles and was told told (by the waitress) not to because a lady came by all the tables and gave out free pickles and it would just be a waste of money for something that that was given free....there was 4 of us and she gave us 3 (only) pickles..when asked (sarcastically) if we could at least have one more, was told that was bending the rules.....what a joke....not one of our meals was prepared right, hot or even edible....when we got the bill each meal was taxed and then the entire bill was taxed!!!!! unbelievable.....then to end it... i asked for directions to the local walmart and our waitress replied with "whats that?" REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do I start: do I start with after the meal or before the meal. Before the meal- upon sitting down to our seat, an older guy comes to greet you and introduces himself as if you are the most important person there and offers to take a picture with a $10 camera- he leaves and comes back with your photo in a cheap cardboard picture frame and offers you to purchase the picture for $10.00- practically begs you to take it. Next the food- lets start with my lovely wife- she orders the whole catfish the waiter tells her no whole catfish just filets - she thinks, my wife also places an order for fried green tomatoes and seasoned fries. Here's what comes to her- two slender pieces of catfish-upon breading off the breading the fish was pink, not flakey and clear- disgusting. The fried green tomatoes were orange and no flavor. The fries were not seasoned- My wife sent the food back and the waiter states yeah your fish is not done. She precedes to ask do I want another plate- NO I said.... My food- I ordered the 4 piece chicken dinner with collar greens and baked sweet potato. The chicken was un-crispy, greasy, no flavor. The collars had no flavor and literally were crunchy. Ok sweet potato the smallest I ever seen in my life- nothing to write home about. The bill- even though my wife's meal was taken off- the bill was still $35.00. WOW- this was the worst place ever... After the meal we had to rush to Walgreens and get medicine to settle my stomach. I felt so horrible not only because of the food but because I did not warn those walking in as I was walking out to run away as fast as you can.

Stay away!!! The Health Dept should check this place out.... Warm cold food and barely warm hot food. How does a place like this stay open???

i try this place out, and i was lousey the food didnt have any flavor. the worse i have ever had. and was way over price,the service was no good. and vegetable didnt have any salt in it . i wont be back.

Walking back to our table we encountered a floor as slippery as ice. I ordered a t-bone steak-that was so tough I had to ask for a sharper steak knife. A chain saw would have been better! My wife ordered fried chicken that wasn't cooked thoroughly and had no flavor. The restaurant was overstaffed and they all seemed to be tripping over each other. Never again will I enter this place and I would be out of my mind to. recommend it to anyone!!

this place transformed from the Peppercorn...That was so lousy they had to close and reopen at this place...still lousy food in a newer building

Will not eat there again it took 1 hour and 10 min. to get our food. Ask waiter about food he said it was on the way.Must have got lost. The table next to ours was feed 3 times before we got ours. Waiter sais the manger would bring the food to us which manger never came out. When I payed ask to see manger was told she was to busy to talk to me. Food was cold and too salty. What we hoped would be a good meal was a nightmare. We go to Branson 2 times a year and will never go this place again.
