"Like sitting in Grandma's kitchen"
If you love "farm" food, then this is the place. Reminds me of my great-grandma's kitchen. The food is simple, but very delicious. One of our favorites when we are in Branson. Try the cobbler when you're there, it's to die for!!!

"A irritable eating experience this time"
We had been to Farmhouse Restaurant previously about 20 times since June 1st, 2011 and the dining experience was good. About the beginning of December, on an evening around 7pm, we came in for a meal and that particular nite, the waitress had a "bug up her butt" and was unfriendly and cold, as was the other waitress, who had waited on us previously. We sent a letter in the mail directed to the Owner/Manager and he/she NEVER bothered to answer it! We'll visit other cafes in the area.

Have driven by this place for YEARS & have seen people waiting outside just to get in. Finally decided to give it a shot, & boy what a surprise!
Service was a little slower than other places we've been, but when I come to Branson on vacation, that's not a huge concern. The food was absolutely worth the wait. Keep in mind, this is a small, "mom & pop" type restaurant, which is what we LOVE about Branson. I had Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra. All was very hot & fresh. Wife had tenderloin sandwich, pounded thin "Iowa" style with homemade potato chips. Best she's had. Son had shrimp dinner, said it was very good. Daughter had kids grilled cheese with fries, ate it all & she's picky. Salad bar was small BUT ample with choices. Soup of the day was Bean & Ham, delicious!!
Didn't get a chance to try their famous desserts as we were TOO full. But will will certainly be going back. This was a great little place to eat!
We would highly recommend trying a LOCAL establishment such as this, you won't be disappointed.

We were looking for good home cooking and new places to eat. We followed Rachel Ray's tip of asking the locals. We did just that at Branson Getaways, and this was the suggestion. She told us to be prepared for a long wait, but the food would be well worth it. I ordered the Fried Chicken Plate. It came with Fries, Rolls, and a green veggie, honestly all I remember is the Fried Chicken. It came out piping hot with a crisp coating. As I look at the picture of the Fried Chicken I wish that I had asked what their coating was made from. The chicken was very delicious and moist and crispy. The food was well worth the wait. The service was timely considering the number of people. Our hostess came back several times to check on us, that's always a plus. As far as the Price and the Value of the Food and Service, I feel that it was justified, well worth the cost. The atmosphere was merely a Cafe or Diner. Decorations were adequate, it wasn't junky. One thing I liked was as you waited and moved up in line, there was always something for your eyes to gaze upon. Many little signs and placards abound to help the wait not seem so long. Enclosed is a link to the photo of the Farmhouse Restaurant Fried Chicken Dinner.

This past week, my sister and my husband and I ate at the Farmhouse Family Restaurant in Branson, Missouri. We had to waited a long time in line to be seated, then a long time to be waited on. Since we already had such a long wait already, we each ordered something fast, which we thought wouldn't take long to prepare. My sister and I ordered the salad bar and the soup of the day. The salad bar was merely satisfactory and the soup, bean, was absolutely poor. The soup consisted of canned beans, a meager amount of cubed ham steak, cut very small, and water. It was truly disgusting! The soup was not eatable! Lousy!! My husband ordered biscuits with gravy, ham and eggs. This would be a meal he loves. Well, the biscuits were hard and dry, the gravy was like glue, he couldn't even eat his meal. Needless to say, this was about the worst meal we had during are visit to Branson. Sincerely

My husband and I have been eating at the Farmhouse Restaurant for many, many years. It is just so much fun and we love the food. We love the fact that we can have breakfast anytime of the day. This time my husband had biscuits and gravy and I had the ham and cheese omelet. It was all good and we got our food very fast. They were really busy, too. The price is right. We just love the whole atmosphere of the Farmhouse Restaurant. We have always made up our mind that when we go to Branson, we are NOT eating at chain restaurants. The Farmhouse Restaurant is the BEST!!! Thanks for making it so enjoyable for us.

Farmhouse has been there for ever and they offer the best damn food for a venue like that. I love all the cobblers I have had all of them atleast twice if not more and I do not weigh 500 lbs. if you read all of my reviews from all the food that I eat. They have really good burgers and other sandwiches as well. I took my wife there for the first time on our honeymoon in Nov.2006 and she absolutely loved it !!!.

The first time my husband and I went in Farmhouse we had a great time. The waitress shot my husband for being a brat and gave him a sticker that said he got shot at Farmhouse. We have been going back for over 10 years and love it. This is a great restaurant with great people and great food.
